Pregnant Carrie Underwood Looks Happy And Healthy At The CMAs
Underwood looked radiant at the 52nd annual CMA Awards, where she revealed she's expecting her second son.
It's been a busy year for Carrie Underwood. The singer began the new year recovering from an intense fall she took in the winter. She slowly returned to the studio and red carpet, released new music, and, oh yeah, she's expecting! On November 14, Carrie Underwood co-hosted the 2018 CMAs, and she looked amazing. Seriously, the award-winning singer looked happy, healthy, and radiant beyond belief. Not that she doesn't always, but still — given the intense events of the past 12 months, showing up looking glowing and gorg to a ceremony she was also working? Underwood should get an award for that!
As People points out, this is not her first CMAs rodeo. In fact, 2018 marked year number 11 for Underwood and her fellow country star co-host, Brad Paisley. Plus, at this year's ceremony, she was nominated for two awards on her own! The first was music video of the year for her new single, "Cry Pretty," and the second was female vocalist of the year — naturally, the talented songstress went home with the latter.
The 2018 CMT Country Music Awards was the first show she's hosted pregnant, but this isn't her first pregnancy. Underwood and her husband, Mike Fisher, also have a son named Isaiah Michael.

One of the star's first dresses was a beautiful floral number with transparent sections that were the same color as the rest of her, which — how can she even pull that off? How can anyone? Is this a learnable skill?
Now, this isn't the first appearance she's made while this pregnant: In early October, Underwood attended the American Music Awards. That was the first time fans saw how far along the singer was with her second child. Later, Underwood walked the red carpet for the 2018 CMT Artists of the Year event in Nashville. She also picked up an award there, because 2018 is gunning to be the most eventful year for her yet.
Obviously, the fact that she's a globally recognized artist and award winner matters much more than the fact that she happened to attend these shows while pregnant (and looked amazing at the same time). Still, Underwood was happy to discuss what it's like to be expecting and have a busy, publicity-filled schedule.

Since she's helped host the show for the last 10 years, hosting while pregnant was reportedly a new experience for the singer — at least in terms of glamour.
"[Dressing] is different,” Underwood told People. "Mainly it’s a wardrobe thing and I don’t move as fast as I would like to. There’s a lot of quick changes and running from one side of the stage to the other." She's pulling it off, because look at that pink cape!
The co-host also joked that most high-end designs aren't made for heavily pregnant women. But Underwood, ever fearless, made it work. "I’m squeezing myself into things not meant to go on [my] body," she told the magazine. "But I’m sorry when I give them back and they’re all stretched out. Sorry designers!"
Hey, maybe designers should take this as an opportunity to provide outfits to a broader range of consumers? Just a thought.
In the end, though, what really matters is that Underwood seems happy and healthy. Even after the freak accident that left her with unexpected stitches — the one that kept her out of the public eye for months — she's doing amazing, sweetie.
